Mr. Eddie R. Smith, age 61, of 19 Kennel Court, Simpsonville, died Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Veterans Hospital, Asheville, North Carolina. He was a son of the late Floyd Smith and Airwilton Dorrah Smith, a graduate of the Greenville County School System, a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and veteran of the United States Army.He was a former employee of Fiber Co., and retired employee of the Greenville County School District.He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Smith of Fountain Inn; a son Elliott Smith of Fountain Inn; a daughter, Frances Walker of Greenville; one brother, Willie Floyd (JoAnn) Smith ofFountain Inn; two sisters, Betty Steward ofLanham, Maryland and Robbie Boyd of Simpsonville.Funeral service will be held 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the BeasleyFuneral Home Chapel, Fountain Inn, with Dr. S.B. Neely officiating.Burial will be in the GreenvilleMemorial Gardens with military rites.The family is at the home.
