Willie Mae Shaw, affectionately known for her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and loving heart, entered eternal rest on Thursday,

May 28, 2026. Born on August 22, 1929, in Princeton, South Carolina, she was the beloved daughter of the late William and Loucia Valentine.

Willie Mae received her early education at Princeton Colored School and St.Alban's Training School before graduating from the Laurens County School System in Laurens, SouthCarolina. She was a woman who valued education, faith, family, and service to others.

A devoted servant of God, Willie Mae was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Crown Heights in Brooklyn, New York, and remained a lifetime member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church in Honea Path, South Carolina. Her strong faith guided her throughout her life and was reflected in the kindness, wisdom, and compassion she extended

to everyone she encountered.

Willie Mae dedicated many years of her life to caring for others through her work as a nurse. Her nurturing spirit and commitment to helping those in need left a lasting impact on countless lives until her retirement.

Willie Mae cherished her family deeply and found great joy in being surrounded by those she loved. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband of more than fifty years, Mr.Willie Earl Shaw; a sister, Genevieve Wheelock; and two brothers, Houston Valentine and John Valentine.

Left to cherish her precious memories are her two sons, Ivor Shaw of Horn Lakes, Mississippi, and Leonard (Betty) Shaw of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three daughters, Cynthia Shaw and Amani (Matthew) Shaw-Boyd of Mauldin, South Carolina, and Hope (Anterrias) Shaw-Williams of Greenville,South Carolina; thirteen grandchildren;six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish her memory her beloved sister, Peggy C. Shamberger of Carthage, North Carolina, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, cherished friends, and loved ones.

Though her earthly journey has ended, the beautiful legacy of love, faith, and compassion Mrs. Willie Mae Shaw leaves behind will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
