Mr. William Downs, Jr., age73, of 911 Lee Vaughn Road, Simpsonville, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Greenville Memorial Hospital, Greenville. Born in Laurens County, a son of the late Williams Downs, Sr. and Alzonia Irby Downs and husband of Brenda Johnson Downs, he was a member of the Beaverdam Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Brenda J. Downs of the home; two sons, William Downs, III of Atlanta, GA and Ashley Downs of Japan; one brother, Bobby Downs of Simpsonville; four sisters, Jamie Baines and Levonia Johnson of Enoree, Julia Norman of Fountain Inn and Minnie Clark of Simpsonville and one grandchild. Funeralservice will be held 2 p.m.,Monday, March 27, 2017, at theBeaverdam Baptist Church, Enoree with Dr. O.T.Hill officating burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites. The family is at the home. Beasley Funeral Home, Fountain Inn is in charge of arrangements.
