Mrs. Viola Peterson, age 89, of 313 River Street, Laurens, died Thursday, July 21, 2016, at the Laurens County Hospice House, Clinton. Born in Clinton, a daughter of the late Raymond Suber and Mary Gary and wife of the late Lewis Peterson, she was a member of the White Plains Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Betty Powers of Laurens; two brothers, Moses Lee Suber of Washington, DC and Thomas Suber of Laurens; one sister, Mary Bell Porter, Clinton and two grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the White Plains Baptist Church, with Dr. Johnny L. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family is at the home. Beasley Funeral Home, Laurens is in charge of arrangements.
