Mr. Truhan McCray, age 77, of Simpsonville, South Carolina departed this life on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at the Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home, Anderson, South Carolina. He was born in Washington, District of Columbia, a son of the late Truman McCray and Dorothy Fletcher McCray. He graduated from McKinley Technology High School Class of 1966, and shortly afterward he was drafted into the Army serving in the Vietnam War receiving an honorable discharge. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of thirty-two years, Diane Rucker McCray of the home; two sons, Keith McCray of Washington, District of Columbia, and Desmond (Balinda) Mayfield of Greer, South Carolina; one daughter, Varonda (Bobby) Bryant of Simpsonville, South Carolina; one brother, Marshall McCray of Washington, District of Columbia; two sisters, Diana McCray of Waldorf, Maryland, and Amanda (Maceo) Lewis of Glendale Maryland; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Public viewing will be from 10am to the hour of service at the church.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 1, 2024, at Flat Rock Baptist Church. Burial will immediately follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens with military honors.
