Mr. Thomas Frank Barksdale was born on May 18, 1938 in Greenville, SC to his late mother (Elizabeth Scott) . He passed on February 19, 2025 at St. Francis, in Greenville, SC. He was 86 years young.

In his early life, he went to Sterling High School where he got the name "Peter Rabbit." He was a track star and even had a chance to go into the Olympics. He graduated class of 1959. Later, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Not too long after graduating, he met Mrs. Margaret Barksdale. They fell in love and were like two peas in a pod. They got married in 1961, which was 63 years of marriage. They grew a beautiful family, traveled, and created a good life together. They had 7 boys and one girl: the late Tony ( Barbara ) Barksdale, Terry ( Darlene ) Barksdale, Lasharitta ( Mark ) McKinney, Collis ( Rebecca ) Barksdale, William (Angela ) Barksdale, Travis ( Jacqueline ) Barksdale, Timothy Barksdale, and Tori Barksdale. He leaves behind his Wife, 7 kids, 22 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. He has 7 living brothers: James Scott, Louis, Luther, William, Charles, and Johny McNeil; Followed with a bulk of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and more family and friends.

Public Visitation will be held on Saturday. February 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 6:00PM at Beasley Funeral Home in Greenville, SC.

Funeral Services will take place on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Macedonia Baptist Church in Greenville, SC

Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens
