Mrs. Sharon "Cuda" McDaniel Herring. age 73, of 215 Slatton Trail, Simpsonville, South Carolina, died Monday, January 13, 2020 at her home. Born September 12, 1946 in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Walter Perry McDaniel and Gladys Taylor McDaniel. She was educated in Greenville County Public Schools, and later married the late LeRoy "Roy" Herring. Upon graduating she furthered her education by attending beauty and barber school. Then, Sharon opened Ebony & Ivory: a Beauty Salon and Barbershop and became one of the first African American women in Greenville, South Carolina to own a Beauty AND Barber Shop. Her love and memories are left to: two sons, Pealur Hicks of Simpsonville, South Carolina and Sylvester Mitchell of Live Oak, Florida; two daughters Ineka Herring of Long Beach, California and Chaundra (Walter) Palmer of Simpsonville, South Carolina; four sisters, Yvonne (Casper) Posely, Joanette (Clarence) Henderson, Barbara Jean (Jessie) Hill, and Joenelle McDaniel all of Simpsonville, South Carolina; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; and a host of many relatives and friends. Funeral Service for Mrs. Herring will be held 12 Noon Monday, January 20, 2020 at Reedy Fork Baptist Church, 3115 Fork Shoals Rd with Rev. Willie Choice and Pastor T.E. Simmons officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends and family at the residence of her sister, and brother in law, Yvonne & Casper Posely, of 125 Ladson Lake Lane, Simpsonville.
