Mrs. Rudene Lyons, age 58, of 207 Clary Street, Laurens, died Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at her home. A daughter of Sam Simpson of Mountville and the late Cora Bell Richard Simpson and wife of Walter Lyons, she was a employee of the Martha Franks Retirement Home and a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Walter Lyons of the home; three sons, Rino Lyons, Mario Simpson and Dervario (Laressa) Simpson of Laurens; her father, Sam Simpson of Mountville and her step mother, Liz Simpson of Mountville;one step son, Craig (Kim) Lyons of Mauldin; one step daughter, Nikki (Kairi) Bolden of Greenville and ten grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the C.D. Beasley Memorial Chapel of the Beasley Funeral Home, Laurens, with Rev. Anthony Sims officiating. The family is at the home.
