Rosa Marie McDowell, age 76, of 1494 Bypass 127, Laurens, died Sunday, July 19, 2015 at the Laurens County Hospital, Clinton, SC. A daughter of the late Lawrence Neely and Marie Coleman Neely and wife of Melvin McDowell, Sr., she was a member of the Bethel AME Church. She is survived by her husband, Melvin McDowell, Sr. of the home; four sons, Victor (Denise) McDowell of Mauldin, SC, Errold (Iris) McDowell of Columbia, SC, Melvin McDowell, Jr. and Brian (Melissa) McDowell, both of Laurens, SC; two daughters, Stephanie McDowell of Marietta, GA and Nadine McDowell of Laurens, SC; four brothers, Elder Ernest (Beatrice) Neely of Washington, DC, Gerald Neely of Mauldin, SC, Rev. Mitchell (Sharon) Neely and Walter (Valerie) Neely of Laurens, SC; three sisters, Sarah N. Shuler and Sheryl (Ricky) Pulley, both of Mauldin, SC and Ann Holliday of Laurens, SC. Funeral service will be held 12 Noon, Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the Poplar Spring AME Church, with Rev. Adrian Kollock and Rev. James Farr officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Memorial Garden. The family is at the home. Beasley Funeral Home, Laurens is in charge of arrangements.
