On August 19, 1935, Roosevelt Jackson was born to the late James Jackson, Sr. and the late Georgia Mae Franklin in Greenville, South Carolina.

His early years were spent in Greenville until he married Ruby A. Houston in January 1960 and then they moved to Gray Court.

He attended Greenville County Public School System. Roosevelt retired from W. R. Grace, Cryovac Division after 38 years.

Roosevelt was an active church member at Mount Carmel A.M.E. Church, Gray Court, SC. He was a member of the men's choir and was involved with the Boy Scouts of America as a Scout Master. Roosevelt loved helping around the church.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Emma Jean Williams; two brothers and four sisters.

He leaves to cherish many fun and loving memories, his wife of 63 years, Ruby Jackson; three daughters, Vanessa Jackson of the home, Sheila (Ericon) Corbin and Stephanie Grant both of Gray Court, South Carolina; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm Friday, June 23, 2023 at Beasley Funeral Home- Fountain Inn.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Mount Carmel A.M.E. Church, Gray Court, South Carolina, Reverend Michael Young officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
