Ronald Lavell Cobb, 67, entered into his heavenly home surrounded by his loving family on September 11, 2016 following an extended illness. Ron was born November 8, 1948 in Greenville, South Carolina, the eldest son of Edna K. Cobb and the late J.W. Cobb. He is survived by his son, Christopher Jay Cobb and his daughter, Amanda Cobb Robertson. In addition to his children, he is survived by two brothers, Dr. Larry W. Cobb (Carol) of Piedmont, SC and H. Marett Cobb (Susan) of Ft. Worth, TX. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Megan Harmon (Dallas), Jay Cobb (Destiny), Andrew Cobb, Diana Robertson, great grandson Harrison Harmon with another great grandchild on the way. He is also survived by nephews Kevin Cobb, Matthew Cobb (Jessie), and Justin Cobb. All of whom he loved dearly and was extremely proud. Ron was the Senior Class President of Carolina High Schools Class of 1967. He won numerous athletic awards including Athlete of the Year during his junior and senior years. He pursued a business career after graduating and was honored to serve in the South Carolina House of Representatives. Ron went on to enjoy a long, rewarding career as a residential and commercial developer in Greenville and the surrounding areas. He genuinely enjoyed life to the fullest, whether playing golf with his family and friends, traveling, or spending time on the water at the lake or the beach. A memorial service will be held at 2p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2016 in the Carpenter Chapel of Greenville First Baptist Church, 847 Cleveland Street. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 1p.m. in the Prayer Room. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Ron Cobb may be made to Ark Hospice House, 1901 Assembly Street, Suite 275, Columbia, SC 29201.
