Reverend Thelma C. Carter, age 79, of 7 Queens Street, Fountain Inn, passed away, Monday, February 13, 2023 at her home. Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late Reverend Odell Wharton and Macie Foggie Wharton. She is survived by two son, Ray Wharton and George Carter; three daughters, Theressa Rogers, Bridgette Richard and Tonya Carter; four brothers, Billy Wharton, Douglas Wharton, Randy Joe Wharton and Harold Wharton; five sisters, Clara Kilgore, Macie Charlene Reeder, Agnes Copeland, Delores Caldwell and Anita Cummings; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service for Reverend Carter will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Mt. Carmel AME Church, Gray Court with Pastor Michael Young, officiating, and Rev. Cornell Richardson, presiding. Burial will immediately follow service in the church cemetery.

There will be a viewing and visitation promptly before the service, at the church, from 12 Noon until 1:00 p.m.
