Mr. Melvin Dewitt 'Big Lou' Williams, age 54, formerly of Sunset Park, Laurens, died Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the Burke Hospice and Pallative Care, Valdese, NC. Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Odell Blakely and Gracie Mason. He is survived by two cousins, Lola Ray and Margaret Wrice both of Laurens. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Duncan Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Richard Aiken officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family is at the home of a cousin, Lola Ray, 101 Oak Street, Laurens. Beasley Funeral Home, Laurens is in charge of arrangements.
