Master Sergeant William Steven, Sr. departed this life at the age of 69  on September 8, 2022 at 12:45 p. m. He was born on May 19, 1953 in Anderson County, South Carolina to the late Fred Smith, Sr. and Martha Gray Smith. Brother "Steve" as known by many worked 33 years for BellSouth before retiring. He also served twenty-one years at the 151st Signal Battalion at Donaldson Center as a Tactical Circuit Controller before retiring in 1997. As a soldier, he was Always Prepared and Ready to Keep Freedom Free. He is survived by his devoted wife of thirty-nine years, Sheralyn Fields Smith, three daughters; one son; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, 5 sisters, nine brothers and sisters; two step-sisters, and one step-brother.

Funeral Arrangements for Master Sergeant William Steven Smith, Sr. will be held 11:00 am, Monday September 19, 2022 at Reedy Fork Missionary Baptist Church, 3115 Fork Shoals Road, Simpsonville with Pastor T.E. Simmons officiating.

Interment will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery, Anderson.
