Mary Ruth McDowell, a daughter of the late McAuther McDowell, and Valor Mae McClinck, was born in Greenville County, South Carolina, on November 15th, 1950.

She lived a humble and quiet life her humbleness and pleasant smile made all who met her love her. Before her health declined she was big on family and loved everyone. Mary received her education in Greenville County School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tawanna Jean, and a brother, McAuthor Jr.

On Friday, October 10th, at 10:00 pm, God dispatched his angels to Prisma Health in Greenville, SC. It was time for Mary to take her rest at the age of 74, she fought a good fight and finished her work here.

Left to cherish her loving memories are one daughter, Sharon McDowell of Winston Salem, NC, one son, David McDowell, of Raleigh NC, two granddaughters, Shanequa and Kanesha McDowell, both of Winston Salem, NC and four great grandchildren all of Winston Salem, NC; 5 Sisters Yvonne Philson, of Spartanburg SC, Geanette Suber, Shirley Logan, Lula Mae Mcdowell, and Louise Philson all of Greenville SC. 1 brother James Mcdowell of Greenville SC and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins that will miss her kindness and generosity. extended family including nieces, nephews and cousins that will miss her kindness, love, generosity and compassion.

Funeral Service will be on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at 3pm at Beasley Funeral Chapel-Greenville
