Mrs. Margarite T. Chapman, age 91 of 252 Cobb Road Pelzer, South Carolina, died Sunday, February 28, 2016 at AnMed Health Center. Born in Greenville, South Carolina a daughter of the late Sam Thurman and the late Precilla Griffin Thurman and the wife of the late Raymond Chapman. She was a devoted homemaker and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by three sons, Marvin Chapman, Rev. Larry Chapman and Carl Chapman all of Pelzer, SC; seven daughters, Margarite Ann Daniel of Pelzer, SC, Betty Chapman Young of Greenville, SC, Bobbie Cade of Easley, SC, Mary Brock of Simpsonville, SC, Hattie Chapman of Greenville, SC, Joe Ella Ellis and Rachel Chapman both of Pelzer, SC; one sister, Sarah Chapman of Piedmont, SC; twenty-nine grandchildren; fifty great grandchildren and thirty great-great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 2pm Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Chapman and Rev. Herbert Edwards officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Beasley Funeral Home, Greenville is in charge of arrangements. The family is at the home.
