Obituary

On Thursday June 9, 2022, Lucille Latimore transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home in God's care. Lucille was one of seven children born to Cora and Tony Martin on September 11, 1942. She attended Sterling High School in Greenville, South Carolina. During this time, she also met and eventually married John Latimore. From this union, they gave birth to and raised six children: Betty, John, Della, Sharon, Alache, and Ronald. While living in South Carolina, Lucille took on different jobs including working in hospitals. Lucille eventually moved to New York City where she would become a school crossing guard for 35 years. She also accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the Mount Calvary Baptist church where she proudly served as a member of the Usher's Board. Lucille was known for her love of Westerns, a good game of poker or solitaire, and her immense love for her entire family. She was always ready to "get up and go" and was there when you needed her. She is survived by her children: Betty (Leon) Burgess of Englewood, NJ, John (Cassandra) Latimore of New York, NY, Sharon Latimore of Bronx, NY, Ronald "Coot" Latimore of New York, NY, and Della Latimore of Mauldin, SC; her "boys": Christian Latimore, Kelly Latimore, Isaiah Latimore of New York, Joshua Latimore, Quamane Latimore, and Taylor Latimore of Greenville, SC; her grandchildren: Derrick Latimore, Leon Latimore, Kimberly (Albert) Burgess-Grant, Shamell Martin, Lameka Latimore, Candace (Jaison) Latimore-Narh, Jonathan Latimore, Deon Parsons, Ronneisha Ward, Ronald "Lucky" Ward, Chloe Latimore, and Trinity Latimore all of New York, NY, Quintin Parsons, Alessa Jones-Latimore and Jalayah Latimore of Greenville, SC; nieces Ritha Blandin, Doris Thompson, and Mattie Robinson of Greenville, SC and host of great-grandchildren and other family members and loved ones.
