Mrs. Lorene R. Stenhouse, of 105 Woodland Drive, Fountain Inn, South Carolina, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Simpsonville Rehab and Healthcare. Lorene Stenhouse daughter of the late Ludie and Onnie Winford Rice, was born in Greenville County, South Carolina on February 10, 1924. From this union Lorene had thirteen brothers and sisters. She was educated in the public schools of Greenville County and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Fountain Inn, South Carolina, where she served faithfully as a member of the Senior Choir, and Sunday school teacher, Pastor's Aid Ministry, auxiliary, Co-chair Deacon and wives Church Beneficiary Committee for women auxiliary until her illness. She was a member of Fountain Inn Chapter #60 Order of the Eastern Star. She retired employee of Union Carbide and Kemet Electronics where she worked for 20 years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Louis Stenhouse, one son, Bobby Gene Stenhouse, eight sisters and three brothers. She leaves to cherish fond memories one daughter, Betty (William) Bailey, one son, James Allen Stenhouse, one sister, Helen Shumate and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, two sisters in laws Thelma Bernice Hood (Barry) Rice of Brooklyn, New York; Judy (Jimmy) Rice of Durham, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
