Loraine Floyd
Burnside
Apr 10, 1950 — Jun 3, 2026
On Wednesday June 3rd, 2026, Loraine Floyd Burnside, also known as "LO", departed this life and entered Eternal Rest at the home of her daughter of Laurens, S.C. on Wednesday, June 3,2026 at the age of seventy-six. Loraine was born in Greenwood, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Mr. Junior and Lullabell Floyd.
She attended the public schools of Greenwood, SC and was a former employee of Martha Franks Baptist Retirement in Laurens, South Carolina for many years before retiring.
As a resident of Laurens, Loraine love was woven into the cloth of the lives that surrounded her, never meeting a stranger, opening up her home and heart to many who knocked on her door. Earning the name "Ma Loraine" was a very strong Lady, true fighter that met every life challenge with an unshakable resilience.
She was preceded in death by one daughter Gloria Floyd of Greenwood, three sons, Richard Bernard (Sube) Suber, Terrance (T-Mack) Suber, Johnny Lee Burnside Jr of Laurens, four brothers, J.B. Floyd, Robert Floyd, Junior Floyd Jr of Greenwood and Rufus Floyd of Florida, two sisters Lizzie Fuller of Greenwood, and Louella Parks of Crosshill.
She leaves precious memories that will forever be cherished by her children, Latisha (Matt) Tucker, Lashica Burnside, Anthony (April) Suber, Stanley (Alishia) Suber, Annette (Michael) Mattison, Melissa Burnside, and Dorothy (Jerome) Noel; all her loving grandchildren of the home Ja' Nadia Priestley, Zi 'Anthony Priestley, Jordan Ruff, Jayla (Jalen) Cain of San Antonio Texas, one great grandchild Alyzah Cain of San Antonio Texas and a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a special friend Zenda Longshore.
To know Loraine was to feel valued, cared for and like you always belonged to her family. She will be missed dearly but we take comfort in knowing that her footprint is planted in our hearts and a spirit as bright as hers will never leave us. Her presence will always be felt.
