Mr. Julius Anthony Barkley, age 82, of 105 Leake Drive, Simpsonville, SC, died Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Greenville Memorial Hospital, Greenville, SC. A son of the late Glenwood and Carpathia Ward Barkley and husband of the late Gladys Barkley, he was a retired educator and a veteran of the US Air Force. He is survived by his son, Dwight Barkley of the home; two brothers, Elmer Barkley and Barry Barkley of Crisfield, Maryland and two sisters, Bessie Morgan of Springdale, Maryland and Virginia Horsey of Crisfield, Maryland. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Mt. Carmel AME Church, with Rev. Roland Sigmon and Rev. John Nix officiating. Burial will be in the Greenville Memorial Garden. The family is at the home. Beasley Funeral Home, Fountain Inn is in charge of arrangements.
