Mr. Joseph Gartrell, age 53, of 11 Eastview Drive, Greenville, SC, died Sunday, May 3, 2015 at the McCall Hospice House. Born in Brooklyn, New York, a son of the late Johnnie Robert Gartrell Sr., and Bertha Brooks Gartrell, he was a former employee of General Electric. He is survived by his wife, Judy Martin Gartrell of the home; two brothers, Johnnie Robert Gartrell Jr., of Simpson, SC and Joshua Gartrell of Greenville, SC; three sisters Angelina Gartrell, Deaslean Gartrell and Rosa Jackson all of Greenville, SC; a maternal grandmother, Alberta Anderson of Greenville, SC. Funeral service will be held 1pm, Saturday, May 9, 1015 at the Beasley Funeral Home Chapel, Greenville with the Reverend Amanda Moss and Bishop Rena Anderson officiating. The family is at the home.
