Mr. John Willis Rogers, Sr., age 79 of 210 Memminger Street, Greenville, SC died Thursday, November 26, 2015. Born in Greenville County a son of the late Uzzie Jackson Rogers, raised in the home of his late uncle and aunt, Willie and Carrie Rogers and the husband of the late Lerlene Todd Rogers, he was educated in the public schools of Greenville County and a former employee of the Greenville News. He is survived by two sons, Richard Rogers and John Rogers, Jr., both of Greenville, SC; one brother, Wardlaw Jackson Jr., of Greenville, SC; five sisters, Nettie (Cornell) Martin of Piedmont, SC, Sarah Gregory of Greenville, SC, Evelyn Dendy of Fountain Inn, SC, Alice Cannon and Tressy Jackson both of Greenville, SC. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the Reedy Fork Baptist Church, with Dr. T.E. Simmons officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Beasley Funeral Home, Greenville is in charge of arrangements.
