Mr. Joe T. Whitmire passed away Wednesday, October 9,2024 at Prisma Health, Greenville, SC. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Whitmire; two daughters, Satrina (Rico) Boyd and Kayla Choquette, two step – sons, Brian Shumpert and Scott (Debbie) Shumpert; six grandchildren, Desmond (Shontica) Shumpert, Rico "Kay" Boyd, Saimaya, Tatyana, David Jr, and Charlotte Choquette three brothers; Johnnie Whitmire, George Whitmire and Roger Whitmire; four sisters, Hattie Yeargin Robbins, Laura Anderson, Inez Wilson and Vickie Shaw; three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, October 15,2024 at the C. D. Beasley Memorial Chapel of Beasley Funeral Home in Laurens with Reverend Richard Aiken officiating, burial will be in the New China Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.

The family is at the home of his daughter, Santrina and Rico Boyd 203 Martin Road, Joanna, SC. The Beasley Funeral Home of Laurens, SC is in charge of the arrangements.
