Mr. James David "JD" Williams, age 71, of Simpsonville, South Carolina passed away on Tuesday April 4, 2023, at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Greenville, South Carolina August 27, 1951, he was a son of the late Willie David Williams and Martha Jane Nelson Williams. He attended the public schools of Greenville County furthering his education he enrolled in Rutledge College in Greenville, South Carolina earning an associate degree in accounting. He answered the call to serve his country enlisting in the United States Marines Corp after two years of service he obtained the rank of Corporal and received an honorable discharge. He was a dedicated employee of the General Electric Company, retiring after thirty plus years of service.

He is survived by his devoted and caring wife, Ernestine Austin Williams of the home; one daughter, Yvette Young of the home; one brother, Larry K. Williams of North Charleston, South Carolina; three sisters, Lillie Williams Akali of Greenville, South Carolina, Marian Ann Carter of Hollywood, South Carolina and Thelma Jane Williams of Charleston, South Carolina; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Public viewing will be held Friday, April 14, 2023, from 10:00am – 7:00pm in the chapel of Beasley Funeral Home, Greenville.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 15, 2023, at I-85 Church of Christ with Minister Albert Scurry, officiating. Interment will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
