Mr. James Lee "Redeye" Nelson, 80, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away Friday, June 7, 2024, at Prisma Health System. James was born in Russell County, Alabama, on July 22,1943, to the late Mr. Jim Richard Nelson and Mrs. Louise Mccoy Nelson. James is survived by best friends Terry Atkins and Kurt Jenkins and his former wife, Ms. Annette Nelson. One sister, Mary Neal Nelson, and one brother, Franklin Nelson. James was given the name Redeye by his devoted close friends, "the Ducketts." James was a hardworking handyman. He was self-employed and owned his business Nelson Patching and Finishing for many years until his health declined. He was a member of the Mt.Olive Baptist Church. James Nelson will forever be missed, and the good memories will forever live on.

Public Viewing will be on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Beasley Funeral Home (Greenville) from 10am-6pm

Funeral Services will be on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Funeral Home

Interment will follow at Graceland East Cemetery
