Mr. James Melvin Lomax, age 84, of Greenville, South Carolina passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born February 14, 1938 in Abbeville County, South Carolina, he was a son of Will Lomax and Jessie Bell Klug Lomax and the husband of Ruby Lee Reid Lomax. He is survived by his wife Ruby L. Lomax of the home; two sons, Tony Lomax of Charlotte, North Carolina and Larry Lomax of Greenville, South Carolina; two daughters, Julia Nedwards, and Gwendlyn Fowler both of Greenville, South Carolina; one brother, John H. (Linda) Lomax of Goldsboro, North Carolina; six sisters, Helen Lomax and Janie Williams both of Greenwood, South Carolina, Laura Stewart and Mamie Ellis both of Hodges, South Carolina, Beatrice (JB) Donald of Honea Path, South Carolina and Grace Martin of Ware Shoals, South Carolina; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Public viewing will be on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 10am-6pm at Beasley Funeral Home (Greenville). Funeral services will be 1pm Monday, December 12, 2022 at Rock of Ages Baptist Church. Interment will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
