Mr. James Joseph Smith, Jr., age 83 of 617 Lee Vaughn Road, Simpsonville, SC, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025.  Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late James J. Smith and Ruth Cheatham Smith.  He is survived by his wife, Teretha W. Smith; two sons, Gary (Joy) Smith and Gregory (Stacy) Smith; two daughters, Wanda (Cletus) Croft and Margie (Travis) Rucker; one brother, Eddie (Ann) Smith; three sisters, Lois Anderson, Wilma (Claude) Lee and Patricia (Matthew) Milam; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, November 8, 2025 at New Liberty Baptist Church.  Burial will be in Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park.

The family is at the home.
