Mr. Jackie "Donnie" Dunn Burgess, age 70, of Greenville, South Carolina passed away on Tuesday July 11, 2023, at Regency Hospital, in Greenville, South Carolina. He was born September 14, 1952, in Greenville County, South Carolina a son of the late Mr. Bruce Frank Burgess and Reverend Nancy Lucille Anderson Burgess. He was educated in the public schools of Greenville County and graduated from Sterling High School in the late 1960's. He was a resolute employee of the Estes Plant in Piedmont, South Carolina, retiring after almost thirty years of service. In 1988 he gained his salvation and started attending Lincoln Street Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and sang on the All-Male Choir. In 1998 he joined Israel Metropolitan C. M. E Church, where he sang with the S. O. S. Choral of Greenville, South Carolina.

Left to cherish found and loving memories is his devoted wife of fifty years Josephine Dennis. Burgess; two daughters: Demetria Pendergrass and Cassandra (John) Burgess-Martin; three sons: Sgt. Andre Dennis, US Marine Corp, SSgt Donyelle (Tori) Burgess, US Air Force, and Dr. Bryant Burgess; three sisters, Patricia (Minister Carl) Gambrell, Agretta Dotson and Minister Barbara (Lonnie) Blake; one brother, Billy Joe Burgess; seventeen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren.

Public viewing will be on Sunday, July 16, 2023, from 10:00am-7:00pm in the Greenville Chapel of Beasley Funeral Home Inc.

Home Going Service will be 2pm Monday, July 17, 2023, at Israel Metropolitan CME Church with burial immediately follow in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Piedmont, South Carolina.
