Miss Gloria J. McDowell, age 55, of 5 Hanson Circle, Apt. 520, Laurens, died Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the NHC of Laurens. Born in Laurens, she was a daughter of the late Willie McDowell and Burdie Bell Shumpert McDowell. She is survived by two brothers, Walter (Loraine) McDowell of Fountain Inn, SC and Johnny Lee Cunningham of Syracuse, NY and four sisters, Louise (Willie Grant) McDowell, Rosemary McDowell, Mary Lee McDowell and Rachel (Michael) Stoddard all of Laurens. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at the Rocky Springs Baptist Church, with Rev. Wymond Wilkins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family is at the home of a sister and brother in law, Rachel and Michael Stoddard, 702 Church Street, Laurens. Beasley Funeral Home, Laurens is in charge of arrangements.
