Mrs. Freddie Carolyn Cheeks, of 600 Sulphur Springs Road Greenville, South Carolina died Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Heartland Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Greenville South Carolina a daughter of the late Fred Merritt and Ethel Sizemore Merritt and the wife of the late Harold Cheeks. She graduated from Sterling High School and retired from Mac-Shore Classics after many years of devoted services. She is survived by one niece, Kathleen Merritt of Simpsonville, South Carolina; two nephews, Melvin Merritt of Asheville, North Carolina and Phillip Merritt of Atlanta, Georgia; three great nieces, Allison Merritt (Quentin) Brockman, Jacqueline Clement and Ashley Merritt of Los Angeles, California; three great-great nieces, Brie Merritt, Quinnyetta Brockman, and Kinlyn Williams all of Greenville, South Carolina; two sisters-in-law Mildred (Jeff) Ballenger of Greer, South Carolina and Pearl Walker; three step-daughters, Jacqueline Sharpe of Suffolk Virginia, Beverly Brent of Midland Georgia and Patricia Ware of Greenville South Carolina; two step-sons Harold S. Cheeks Jr. of Claremont Florida, and Terry Cheeks of Sharon hill Pennsylvania
Funeral services will be held 11a.m., Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Springfield Baptist Church with Dr. John H. Corbitt officiating. Burial in St. Mark UMC Cemetery.
