Mrs. Eulalia "Laya" Mercado age 69, of Greer, South Carolina died Monday, April 5, 2019 after a short stay at Prisma, Greenville Memorial Hospital. She was born in Mayagues, Puerto Rico on February 12, 1950. She was the daughter of Santos Mercado and Monserate Mercado-Sanabria. Her passion for beauty inspired her to study cosmetology at Wilfred Academy in Newark, New Jersey. She is survived by her husband, Jose Rojas of the home;four daughters, Magaly Varela, Alba Torres, Aracelia Torres, Gricela Mendez-Davis; and a host of beautiful grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held 11:00am Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Beasley Funeral Home Chapel, Greenville with burial to immediately follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Greer.
