DESTIN’S JOURNEY

A little testimony about his life and his fight

Destin Asan Sims came into this world on July 30, 2026, much sooner than Mommy and Daddy ever imagined. At just 15.3 ounces, he was one of the smallest babies, but he showed us a strength that could never be measured by his size.

From the very beginning, Destin fought. His days were filled with machines, medications, x-rays,ultrasounds, good days, hard days, and countless prayers. And through it all, Mommy and Daddy was there loving him, talking to him, touching his tiny hands and feet, watching every little change, and celebrating every milestone as if it were the biggest victory in the world.

For 47 days, Destin fought to stay with us.

Mommy and Daddy had so many plans for our sweet boy. We imagined changing his diapers, giving him baths, putting lotion on his little body, holding his hands, rubbing his forehead, watching his little eyes look back at us, and finally bringing him home.

Mommy and Daddy had already begun preparing his room. There were plans for holidays, birthdays, family memories, and all the little everyday moments that Mommy and Daddy never knew would become the things we would miss the most.

But even though Destin’s time with us was short, his life was never small.

He was loved every single day.

He was prayed over.

He was fought for.

He was talked to.

He was held.

He was remembered.

He was cherished.

And he will never be forgotten.

You may have only been here for a little while, but Mommy and Daddy will love you for a lifetime our sweet boy.

Destin Asan Sims was born on July 30, 2026, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to his loving parents, Destiny Miller and Jeremiah Sims.

He leaves to cherish his memory his grandmothers, Portia Durham of Greenville, South Carolina, and Samantha Cooper of Greenville, South Carolina, his grandfather, Tamond Davis of Greenville, South Carolina, and his late grandfather, Bobby Sims of Greenville, South Carolina.

And lots of loving family.
