Obituary

Mrs. Critty Lucille Johnson Leake was born on June 22, 1947, in Laurens County, South Carolina to the late Willie Eugene Johnson and Adabelle Pyles Johnson. She attended the public schools of Greenville County schools. Lucille was a dedicated Home Health Care employer until her retirement age. Lucille was a loving Wife, a devoted Mother, Sister, Aunt, & Friend, who loved her family unconditionally and wholeheartedly. Lucille's greatest joy came from spending time with her family and fostering a loving environment for not only her children, but several of her nieces and nephews, who viewed her as a mother figure. Lucille instilled her strong values of family love in her children and grandchildren. She was dedicated to creating a warm and welcoming home to all of those that she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband Lonnie E. Leake, and two children, William Brian Keith Leake Sr. and Thelma Marie Leake; one granddaughter, Jasmine Nicole Evans, and sisters, Mary Rice, Anna B. Gray, Bobbie R. Anderson, Janie B. McGowan, and Janice Johnson. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Willie Clarence Johnson. Lucille departed this life peacefully for eternal rest on October 26th, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves to cherish fond memories with one son, whom she resided with James (Sylvia) Leake of Fountain Inn, SC; two daughters, Betty Leake and Cathryn (Terry) Canada of Greenville, SC; three brothers, Robert and Kenny Roy Johnson of Mauldin, SC and Wesley(Vanessa)Johnson of Greenville,SC; fourteen grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren that she adored, a special niece/caregiver Michelle Paden, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
