Mrs. Carrie D. Sweeney, age 93, of 110 Sweeney Road, Simpsonville, SC, died Thursday, October 31, 2013 at her home. A daughter of the late Clarence Dogan and Lucy McDowell Dogan and wife of the late Henry Sweeney, Sr., she was a retiree of Her Majesty Fabrics and a member of the Rocky Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by three sons, Henry Sweeney, Jr., Clarence U. Sweeney and Charles M. Sweeney; one daughter, Carrie E. Knox; three brothers, Clarence Dogan, Robert Dogan, Walter Lee Dogan; five sisters, Mamie Talley, Mae Francis Dogan, Evelyne Dogan, Nannie Palmer, Agie Lee Miles; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Monday, November 4, 2013 at the Rocky Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Adrian McIlwain and Dr. W.R. Davis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family is at the home. Beasley Funeral Home, Fountain Inn is in charge of arrangements.
