Mr. Carey S. Sullivan was born September 26, 1962, the son of the Late James F. Sullivan, Sr. and Juanita Boyd Sullivan. He transitioned at his home on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at the age of 60 years. His family truly loved him as he was the youngest child of eight children. He was affectionately called Beaver by all of his siblings.

Carey attended Greenville County Schools and was a 1980 graduate of Hillcrest High School. Upon graduating, Carey enlisted in the United States Army. After a two year tour in Germany, he received an Honorable Discharge. After returning to the states, Carey was employed with Sunland Distribution before pursuing a career with 3M Company in 2010. He enjoyed his work at 3M and continued the role of a committed and dedicated employee until his health forced his retirement in August 2022.

Anyone that knew Carey was well aware of his strong love for his daughters. They fondly remember him trying to scare them when they entered a room, constantly teasing them, and always having a playful spirit with them. He continued this behavior even while hospitalized.

During his spare time, you could find Carey on the golf course, fishing or farming. Outside of these activities, he spent time with his nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Carey was preceded in death three brothers; James F. Sullivan, Jr., Clarence I. Sullivan, and Steven G. Sullivan, along with a niece, Jacquetta S. Jackson.

Carey leaves cherished memories with his wife, Velvet Hill Sullivan; two daughters, Valencia Monique Sullivan and Kerri Nichol Sullivan, all of the home; four sisters; Linda S. (Bennie) Robertson, Jacqueline S. Jackson, Deborah S. (Toney) Madden, all of Mauldin, SC, and Nadine S. (Kent) Sullivan of Greenville, SC; three aunts; Martha Boyd of Laurens, SC, Maureen Boyd of El Paso, TX, and Charlotte Thomas of Grand

Rapids, MI; one uncle, William R. Boyd of Laurens, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other

relatives, and friends.

Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday September 5, 2023 at Reedy Fork Baptist Church, Simpsonville

Interment will follow in the church cemetery
