Mr. Burnell Byrd, age 83, of 652 League Road, Ora Community, Gray Court, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, January 13,2026 at the Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center in Laurens, South Carolina. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Ann Byrd of the home; one son, Robert L. Rice; two daughters, Wanda D. Byrd, Kimberly M. Byrd; a godson, Na'Sir Higgins; four brothers, Eugene (Carrie) Spurgeon, Norris (Doris) Spurgeon, Ronnie Spurgeon, Gordon Spurgeon; two sisters, Karen Spurgeon, Theresa (Bobby) Casey; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Mr. Burnell Byrd will be held on Saturday, January 17,2026 at 2pm at the Duncan Creek Baptist Church in Laurens, with Pastor Derrick Barksdale officiating, and burial to follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors.

The family is at the home of 652 League Road, Gray Court, South Carolina.
