Kent will be remembered for his giving spirit, warm smile, and unwavering love for family and friends. His life's legacy will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
Mr. Billy "Kent" Jones, 61, of Greenville, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on September 21, 1963, in Greenville, he was the son of the late William "Bill" Jones and Mamie Kelley Jones. Kent was a proud 1981 graduate of Wade Hampton High School. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served honorably for over two years until being medically discharged due to injuries sustained in a car accident.
Kent was a faithful member of Lowndes Hill Baptist Church for many years. He also attended the churches pastored by his uncle, the late Rev. Alfred Wright. Known for his generosity and willingness to help others, Kent was deeply committed to giving back to his community. He played an instrumental role in establishing the KIA (Kent, Issie & Alfred ) Scholarship Fund for students attending Wesley Chapel and Allen View United Methodist Churches.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a niece, ToyAnita Jones.
Left to cherish his precious memories are two sisters, Anna Theresa "Pinkey" Jones of Greenville, SC, and Bobbie Jean Kelley of Fountain Inn, SC; one brother, Billy Keith (Bouvia) Jones of Simpsonville, SC; one son, Pierre Kentrail (Alice) Jones of Charlotte, NC; nephews, Javarion Dawkins , reared in the home, and Breylon (Barbara) Jones, both of Greenville, SC, and Minister Anthony Tyrone (Ashley) Kelley of Simpsonville, SC; a niece, Brienna Jones of Mauldin, SC; along with a host of other relatives, extended family, and dear friends.
Services :
Public viewing will be held on Saturday,August 16, 2025 from 10:00a.m. until 6:00p.m. at Beasley Funeral Home, Greenville Chapel.
Funeral services will take place on Sunday, August 17, 2025 AT 2:00 p.m., also at the funeral home chapel. Internment with military honors will follow on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 10:00a.m. at the M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson , South Carolina.
