Mrs. Bertha Lee Strother, age 88, of 225 Gooseway Drive, Gray Court, died Saturday, March 16, 2019 at her home. Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late Jessie Anderson and Lela Byrd Anderson and wife of the late Professor Strother. She is survived by six daughter, Patricia (Thomas) Wilson of Greenville, Betty Shaw and Dorothy (James) Drummond of Simpsonville, Carolyn (James) Jefferson, Brenda (James) Thomas of Gray Court and Phyllis Tolen of Gray Court; one brother, Bobby (Mary) Anderson of Greenville; one sister, Betty Webb of Syracuse, NY; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; eight great, great-grandchildren and five godchildren, Mary Turner of Simpsonville, James and Carol Boyd of Gray Court, Sadie and Bernard Perrett of Gray Court. Funeral will be 2:00p.m. Saturday, March 23,2019 at Harris Grove Baptist Church,Gray Court, with Reverend Mae Francis Golden and Bishop Rena Anderson officiating with burial to follow at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery.
