Mrs. Beatrice Dean, age 76, of 214 Oakwood Drive, Laurens, died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at her home.A daughter of the late Carvin Reid and Carrie Bonds Reid, she was a member of the Mt. Vernon AME Church and a former employee of the Whitten Center.She is survived by her husband, Joseph Lee Dean of the home; one son, Antonio (Panessa) Dean of Gray Court; two daughters, Evelyn Smith, Debbie (William) Jones of Laurens; two sisters, Bobbie (Harrison) Oxendine of Sumter, SC, Betty Jean Mason of Laurens; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the C. D. Beasley Memorial Chapel of the Beasley Funeral Home, Laurens, with Rev. Vivian Edwards and Rev. Derrick Barksdale officiating.Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon AME Church cemetery.The family is at the home.
