Obituary

Mrs. Arnita Scott peacefully passed away on December 27, 2022 at the age of 77. She was born on March 17, 1945 in Georgia to the late Daniel Allen and Ruth Vickers. She met and married her husband Adrain Scott in 1961. The couple then settled in New Jersey to raise their children. Throughout her life, Arnita always encouraged her children to live their lives as she did by staying close to God and treating others as they would like to be treated. Upon retirement, Arnita and her husband relocated to Piedmont, South Carolina. Arnita loved to enjoy the company of others, play bingo, and travel. After she was unable to get out to do so, she greatly enjoyed visits she received from loved ones. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Arthur and Alberta Vickers; her parents, Ruth Vickers and Daniel Allen and her son, Dennis Scott.

Arnita is survived by her husband, Adrian and two children Kechie Scott-Wright (David) of Greenville, South Carolina and Eric Scott (Renee) Willingboro, New Jersey. She is a proud grandmother and great-grandmother to her grandchildren Mia McElrath, Isaiah Scott, and Brianna Scott and great-grandchildren Travis McElrath and Tamir McElrath. She is also survived by her siblings Jerrier Harris, Luetrella Allen, and Thomas Allen as well as her sisters-in-law Willa Jean Jones (Harrison), Shirley Wright (Andrew), and Bernice Edmond and brothers-in-law Delmas Scott and Eugene Scott. She shares a special bond with her nephew Bernard Allen and best friend Betty Marshall as well as her many nieces and nephews.
