Mrs. Mary Azilee Barksdale, age 79, of 217 Walterbury Court, Simpsonville, died Friday, November 4, 2016 at the Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Laurens County, a daughter of the late Harold James, Sr. and Mackie Goodjoine James and wife of the late Ralph Barksdale, Sr., she was an attendant clerk with Laurens District 55 School System. She is survived by two sons, Ralph Barksdale, Jr. of Simpsonville and Lenneth Barksdale of Gray Court; two daughters, Dr. Teressa Philson of Suffolk, VA and Jackie Barksdale of Duluth, GA; one brother, Willie James of Gray Court; one sister, Lois Fowler of Gray Court; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Mt. Carmel AME Church, with Rev. Cornell Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family is at the home. Beasley Funeral Home, Fountain Inn is in charge of arrangements.
