Mr. Larry Moates, age 71, of 120 Shumaker Circle, Fountain Inn, South Carolina, died Saturday, June 13, 2020 at his home. Born in Spartanburg, SC, he was a son of the late Will Moates and Sarah Cooper Moates. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Tucker Moates of the home; five sons, Reggie Bullock of California, Carlos Spurgeon of Williamston, SC, Rodricus Meadows of Simpsonville, SC, Dondrell Meadows of NC, and Kenny Norman of Spartanburg, SC; eight daughters, Reverend Jackie McNeil of Greenville, SC, Sonya Gray of Greenville, SC, Shayla Fuller of Laurens, SC, Lisa Blakely of Greenville, SC, Renarda Whitmire of Woodruff, SC, Monique Tucker of Fountain Inn, SC, Sophia Beagle of Fountain Inn, SC and Rhonda Tucker of Simpsonville, SC; two brothers, Robert Moates of Jamaica, NY and Melvin Moates of Woodruff, SC; three sisters, Carrie Meredith of Jamaica, NY, Sue Pearl Bryant of Pelzer, SC and Marion Waters of Philadelphia, PA; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Beasley Funeral Home Chapel, Fountain Inn, with Rev. Waddy L. Talley officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family is at the home.
