Mr. Johnie Calvin (Rip) Anderson, age 63, of 15843 Neely Ferry Road, Waterloo, died Thursday, August 29, 2013, in the Laurens County Hospice House, Clinton, SC. A son of the late Odell Henderson and Nellie Henderson, he was a member of the Smyrna AME Church and a former employee of the Torrington/Timken Company. He is survived by one son, Calvin Anderson of Ninety Six, SC; five sisters, Barbara A. Smith and Cynthia Cheeks of Waterloo, SC, Jacqueline Cunningham of Laurens, SC, Jonelle Jones of Mountville and Rachel Davis of Charlotte, NC and four grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m., Sunday, September 1, 2013 at the Smyrna AME Church, with Rev. Sarah Williams officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family is at the home and at the home of a sister, Barbara Smith, 48 Ashely Heights Road, Waterloo. Beasley Funeral Home, Laurens is in charge of arrangements.
