Mr. James "Black Eye"� Thompson, age 65, of 110 Carriage Court, Gray Court, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at his home. A son of the late Willie Thompson and the late Rosa Mae Ferguson Thompson and husband of Carolyn Bradley Thompson, he was a member of the New Grove Baptist Church and a former employee of the Laurens Glass Company. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn B. Thompson of the home; three sons, Henry James Thompson, Ronnie B. Thompson, Kelly (Shay)Thompson all of Gray Court, SC; two step sons, James (Kim) Austin of Sumter, SC, and Christopher (Tiffany) Austin of Clinton, SC; two step daughters, Tomeka Austin of Greenville, SC, and Michelle (Al) McDuffie of Mauldin, SC; four sisters, Nannie (Ralph) Irby, Annie (Otis) Pressley, Rose (Michael) Woodruff, and Brenda Thompson all of Gray Court, SC; six brothers, Roy Lee Thompson, Odell (Gennie) Thompson, Charles(Peggy) Thompson, Bobby (Sharon) Thompson, Sammy Thompson, all of Gray Court, SC and Benny Earl (Antillious)Thompson, of Waterloo, SC, and thirty-one grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2013 at the New Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Namon Dawkins and Rev. Brandon Greene officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family is at the home. Beasley Funeral Home, Laurens is in charge of arrangements.
