Mr. J.W. Jackson, age 87, of 130 Woodland Drive, Fountain Inn, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the McCall Hospice House, Simpsonville. Born in Greenville County, a son of the late Joenelle Barksdale and husband of the late Lillian Jackson, he was a member and trustee at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Fountain Inn, a former employee of the W.R. Grace and a US Army Veteran. He is survived by one daughter, Dianne J. Turner of Simpsonville; two brothers, Ernest Jackson, of Fountain Inn and William Barksdale of Buffalo, NY; twelve grandchildren, Juanza Hill and Monica (Reggie) Richardson both of Atlanta, GA, Heron Jackson, Tasha Jackson, Chassity Jackson all of Greenville, Georgia Sullivan, LaTonya Clinskcales, Carlos (Yoshunda) Sullivan, Tonya E. (Hayward, Jr.) Smith all of Simpsonville, Nikkie Thompson, Sheka McDaniel and J.W. Jackson, III all of Fountain Inn; twenty-four great-grandchildren; six great, great-grandchildren and a special friend, Betty Booker of Fountain Inn. Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m., Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, with Rev. Samuel N. Flint officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family is at the home. Beasley Funeral Home, Fountain Inn is in charge of arrangements.
