Henry Franklin Black Sr. US Army (Ret.)
Henry F. Black, 76 of Gray Court Went home to be with our Lord on Monday February 25th, 2019
surrounded by family and friends.
Born December 21st, 1942 in Miami, Florida, he was the son of the late Loyd H. Black and Edna Madge
Locher.
Mr. Black served in the US Army from 1962 – 2005 achieving the rank of E-9 Command Sargent Major,
later commissioned to Warrant Officer. Retiring at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4. He took care of
his soldiers just like he did his family. He was highly respected and loved by all.
Surviving is his wife of 26 years, Veronica Goodjoin Black, brother Grady Black (Kathy), Sister Edna Watts
(Bob); Children: Loyd H. Black II, Frank Black (Pam), Marie Black, and Khristopher Goodjoin;
Grandchildren: Coty Black (Hayley), Dylan Black (Maiko), Michael Rogers (Jackie), Alyssa Black, Tyler
Rogers, Lani Black, Maddie Potter, Justin Wood (Tasha), and Tyler Wood; Great grandchildren: Silas
Black, Jozie Black, Emma Black, Kylie Rogers, Khonner Rogers, Jayden Black, and Alana Black; Father-In-
Law Ike Goodjoin, Sister-in-laws, Joyce Brown (Jesse), Annie Burts, and Mary Shaw, Brother-in-law,
Bobby Goodjoin.
Funeral Services will be 1p.m. Thursday, February 28,2019 at Center Rabun Baptist Church, Gray Court. Visitation will be held from 11am til 1p.m. at the church with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Laurens S.C. Beasley Funeral Home of Fountain Inn is incharge of arrangements.
