Mrs. Grace Amarine Sweeney Griffin, age 91, of 129 Sweeney Road, Simpsonville, died Monday, October 21, 2013 at her home. A daughter of the late Hollie Williams and Dory Sloan Williams and wife of the late John D. Sweeney and James E. Griffin, she was a member of the Rocky Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Johnny Sweeney, Jr. and Earl Sweeney; two daughters, Emily B. Smith and Pellar S. Ray; two step sons, Carlton Griffin, Sr. and John Griffin; two step daughters, Pearlie Moore and Dorothy Seawright; eighteen grandchildren; sixteen step grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; twenty-two step grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the Rocky Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Adrian McIlwain, Minister Elizabeth Seawright and Rev. Willie J. Choice officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family is at the home. Beasley Funeral Home, Fountain Inn is in charge of arrangements.
