Mr. Billy Joe Hagood, age 62, of 106 Sequoia Drive, Greenville, died Friday, August 5, 2016 at the St. Francis Hospital, Downtown, Greenville. Born in Greenville County, a son of the late Alvin Pete Hagood, Sr. and Beatrice Bennett Hagood, he was a former employee of the J.P. Stevens Mills. He is survived by his loving companion of forty-four years, Sylvia Johnson of the home; one son, Shaquille M. Hagood Johnson of the home; two brothers, Jason Nelson Hagood of Greenville, and Michael Hagood of Taylors and two sisters, Cecelia Barnes of Taylors and Azelia Hagood of Greenville. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at the Beasley Funeral Home Chapel, Greenville. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Garden.
