Mrs. Bessie M. Shell, age 91, of 520 Hellams Street, Fountain Inn, died Friday, December 18, 2015 at her home. A daughter of the late Queen Putman and wife of the late Dolphus Shell, she was a member of the Mill Rock Baptist Church and a former employee of Bi Lo. She is survived by two sons, Alonzo Shell of Fountain Inn, SC and Clifton Shell of Palm Springs, California; seven daughters, Lena Shell, JoAnn Shell Smith and Clara Shell-Little of Fountain Inn, SC, Janie Ruth Edgeton of Asheville, North Carolina, Jessie Loree Chrisitan of Beltsville, Maryland, Katlhleen Burns of Greenville, SC and Dorothy Mae Rice of Clinton, South Carolina; one brother, James Thomas Watts of Fountain Inn, South Carolina; one sister, Annie Bell Smith of Greenville, SC; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 2pm Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the Mill Rock Baptist Church with Reverend Carlton Austin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Family is at the home. Beasley Funeral Home, Fountain Inn is in charge of arrangements.
